About Me

Doing fieldwork for my cultural landscape study of the World's End Reservation in Hingham, MA. in November 2021. As you can see it was a bit nippy but a wonderful day for taking in sights and doing some documentation work!

My primary areas of research include modern architectural history as well as the study of conserved and recreational landscapes. I am interested in sites of public history, heritage tourism, and outdoor recreation have been developed, preserved, managed, and considered over time. I have also honed my interest in studying modernist and brutalist architecture in both academic and institutional contexts, examining how the histories of such structures have been influenced and considered by their users and broader communities.

In November 2021, I began my current role as an Associate Architectural Historian with the Public Archaeology Lab in Rhode Island. In my role I regularly contribute to National Register nominations, assist in the preparation of state and federal historic rehabilitation tax credit applications, and complete state-level documentation for public and private clients.

Outside of the archives and away from my research, I am an avid hiker, voracious reader, and uncle to four rambunctious kiddos. I am a Young Advisor for the Boston Preservation Alliance where I actively collaborate with fellow lovers of history, preservation, and community organizing to serve as stewards for Boston's historic built environment. I am a life long resident of Massachusetts, the youngest of five, proudly gay, and an advocate for inclusion, democracy, and social justice.
